WHY ZADAR CITY WALKING TOUR
Zadar is a city in the heart of the eastern coast of the Adriatic sea. The old city core is situated on a small Peninsula cca. 1 km x 400 m. The population is close to 80 000 inhabitants and still rising. Even though it’s a fifth city in the country, we can’t say that Zadar is a huge town. It’s a dream come true for those who are planning to start a family, for now.
There are at least 3 characteristics that will most definitely attract everyone to visit the old core with Zadar City Tour. If you don’t join Zadar walking tour in order to hear more about Roman architecture then you will surely join it because of the Venetian walls and bastions.
Surprisingly, a lot of people thinks that the main attraction lies in the view from the famous Riva (Promenade), called after a Croatian king Peter Krešimir the IVth.
If you fall for the Sunset, join us in the afternoon tour. You will find out why some of the most famous people, like Alfred Hitchcock, said that Zadar has the most beautiful sunset in the world.

THE CITY OF CONTRASTS
The 2nd World War left scars on this town and many others. Although, some of the biggest city attractions were displayed to the public after years of extensive ruin removals. 65 % of the city was demolished during the 2nd WW.
Consequently, the new government decided to clean the remains of heavily destroyed buildings and build new ones. Fortunately, some parts were skipped and left empty for archaeologists to display their huge findings in the middle of the Peninsula.
Today the city represents a perfect mix of Antiquity, Middle Age, Renaissance and modern age.Globally known installations Greeting to the Sun & Sea Organ are followed by a 19th century Promenade. A visitor enters the city from an always green park. Gets on the Forum directly through Roman architraves, columns and bases scattered around the symbol of Zadar, the church of St. Donat.
Roman street net guides you through the city towards the Venetian masterpiece of defense. At last, a winged lion, symbol of Venice and St. Mark salutes you on your way out from the old core.
The city has spoken…
